This is the anniversary of the day Osama killed about 3000 of us in New York. It's also the 34th anniversary of the bloody coup in Chile, wherein our tax dollars (via our CIA) contributed to the assassination of Salvadore Allende, Chile's democratically elected socialist President, and the ensuing decades of terror and repression, including the abduction, torture and murder of thousands of activists, trade-unionists, intellectuals, and artists, presided over by our fervent ally, Gen. Augusto Pinochet. You think just because most Americans don't know shit about Chile, the rest of the world is as ignorant? Think again.
